Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST DRINK BOTTLE EVER! After searching everywhere for suitable drink bottles, hands down - this is the best. There is nothing out there that compares. These are quality made, last a long time, unbreakable, and spill proof. You can take them anywhere even with ice and your drink will stay cold for hours. The size of the straw is perfect. I won't use anything else since finding THIS particular Rubbermaid sip bottle. Perfect for anyone, any occasion - but especially for those with physical limitations. My son has trouble with his hands therefore cannot hold and drink from a conventional cup. These are absolutely wonderful. My neighbor asked about this cup as she was recovering from a stroke and could no longer use a regular glass nor a larger straw which may allow too much fluid consumption at once. I gave her one of ours and she immediatelyordered for herself. She too is very impressed. PLEASE keep these available to customers. We love this product!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from first one was great bought 3 more and theyre trash I had bought one of these (32oz version) and had it for a couple years, still have it. ended up buying 3 of the smaller ones (20 oz) one of them didn't work as soon as i bought it and the other 2 didn't even last a month. You can barely drink out of it and it makes this loud annoying sucking sound. can't even bring them to class because of it. Will have to find some more. I was disappointed because i usually have no problem with rubbermaid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This bottle works for me!! I bought this bottle just about a week ago and I'm loving it!! I understand what other users mean when they mention having difficulty with the suction. I initially had problems drawing fluid up through the straw until I did some checking under the cap. As one reviewer mentioned above, the air hole is covered by a rubber insert that is pre-slit. I have found it easier to drink from this bottle once I manipulate the slits on the rubber insert or stick something narrow through the top of the air hole to separate the slits. The reason I believe the air hole is so tight is to maintain its leak-proof-ability. I have only positive things to say about this water bottle!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from It's leaky!!! I like the slim design of the bottle, it makes it easy to carry around and store. The straw makes it easy to drink out of. However, this bottle leaks. The air valve, while it makes it easy to drink through the straw, lets water out when the bottle is tilted, even when the straw is closed. Because of that, this water bottle is basically useless. I can't take it anywhere in a bag when it's full.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bottle Got this for my son for school, it was cheap that's why I purchased it. I figured it wouldn't last however, 6 months later it is still in great shape and still gets used daily. Great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My ubiquitous companion I'm never without my 32 oz. Sip Bottle (except when it's in the dishwasher...)! Even knitted a couple of socks to carry it around with me, and so people know it's MINE. It's been bounced off the floor and the pavement, rolled under the bed, batted by cats, filled with tea and juice as well as water (without retaining odd flavors BTW), and still comes back for duty every day. Managed to destroy several cheap-o giveaway water bottles before I bought my Sip Bottle - just goes to show, quality products are worth the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was the perfect size for me at 32oz so I could easily calculate my water intake daily. This product is easy to use and very importantly easy to clean which is important if you are using a plastic bottle over a long period of time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Either leaks or unusable Like several others have mentioned, this bottle simply doesn't work. (Perhaps positive comments relate to an earlier version of this product?) With the top screwed on to prevent leaks, it is impossible to suck in more than a sip of water. You can unscrew the top a bit to allow drinking, but then it leaks if jostled. FAIL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Maintaining Independence My mother has Parkinson's. We use these containers for her liquids. She appreciates that she can be independent with her liquids without the mess her intention tremor can cause.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have this type of bottle, but the small 8 oz version. I had the same problem initialyl as others, where i would suck on the straw but very little would come out. The white little rubber stopper on the lid (that some people were poking pins through to get a 2nd air hole), actually already has a slit in it that for some reason is stuck tight together. once you get it unstuck, bottle works beautifully!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite! I own enough of these that I never have to go without. They are leak proof and handy and there aren't words enough for how much I love these!!! I think they quit making them for a while and I am so glad they are still in stores. Please, Rubbermaid, don't ever stop production!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Weird suction! Like others, I'm having problems with suction. When the cap is on tight, the liquid does not come out easy and goes back down right away, making a loud noise (not good for an office). I've remedied this by loosening the cap to allow air to flow through, but someone else recommended putting a pin through the valve thing in the top. I will be trying that tonight. Seems stupid that they put an air flow valve in it that's completely solid and has no place for air to go through. Oh also it's really slippery when it condensates, and liquid has squirted out at me a few times when I pick it up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Industrial Strength! I've had my water bottle for about a year. I took it on vacation to Europe this past May & filled it up on day trips so I wouldn't need to buy bottles of water all the time. On one particular day, I pulled the bottle out of my back pack, and as it was a hot day, there was condensation on the outside of the bottle. It slipped from my hand and fell over the wall I was leaning against, to a stairway about 20 feet below. It just missed hitting a woman on the head, but luckily she stopped it when it hit the ground, or it would have likely rolled down to the bottom of the stairway...about 500 steps! But I was amazed when I retrieved it back from her...I had expected it to have cracked from the impact, but the only damage at all was a dent in the flip up straw! It still works great! So my only recommendation would be to continue the rough grip panels to go all the way around the bottle, not just on the two sides. Otherwise, I think its great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't suck?! I just bought this bottle yesterday. The straw does not work. All I get is air. I believe it is a waste of money. I am disappointed as I use quite a few Rubbermaid products. My children use the refillable drink box everyday. Too bad.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I had read these before! I too thought the straw was defective. I removed it, blew through it, as well as the top. Placed all back together; no water leaks from it, but I cannot withdraw any water through the straw/lid - just air. Nifty idea, but the engineers didn't do a very good job of quality control during pre-production. Mine will be going into the trash, guess I'll tell my husband I dropped it and it cracked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed I bought this bottle so i could bring beverages from home. At first I had the same problem with the straw as everyone else seemed to have. It was very noisy and I did have to suck up a lot of air. I fixed this quite easily. I stuck a pin into the little stopper. It lets air pass through and made it so much easier to drink and the hole was so small it is still spillproof. I was about to throw this away but this small remedy helped a lot. Hope this helps everyone else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful straw I thought I was alone but I can see that a lot of consumers are also having trouble with the straw. You have to suck up so much air that you kind of end up with bloating... Sorry but I do not like this product at all, and it's a shame since I am very satisfied with Rubbermaid, but I guess they need to pull these out because it simply doesn't work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like it! This product is very durable and easy to use. I have not had any issues with it spilling or water squirting out when I open the top lever. A few of my co-workers liked the style and now several of us have the bottle sitting on our desks at work. The only minor issue I am having is that I lost the straw and have not been able to find a replacement so I am having to chug the watter....not a nice sound while at work. Anyway...overall I recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from disappointment I bought one of this bottles but it broke when I forgot it in the fridge. I realized that it was not meant to be left over in there. I never had a problem with it. Then I bought two new ones: one small and one large. When I try to drink from either one of them I get water all over! It comes through and it's very annoying. Sorry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boater's Bounty It has been one of the best purchases so far from Rubbermaid. Your design has proven to be leak proof especially after being dropped on board a boat and rolling from side to side before being able to pick it back up. It has a shape that is comfortable to hold. The temperature of our dishwasher made me feel uneasy about washing it the first time, but it has remained structurally sound after a multitude of washings. It also fits in the boat's cup holders. Well done!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Very Practical While I love the design of this bottle and the amount that it can hold, it is not practical to use. No matter what type of liquid I put in there, it always shoots out through the straw when I open the top. I knew it would do this with soda so I tried just water and fruit juices...nothing stops this. I have to take the entire lid off and then open the straw in order to avoid getting juice/ water everywhere. Finally, you can't clean the part that you sip out of; I usually throw it in the dishwasher just to make sure it's clean but trying to wash this out in the sink is a joke. I love rubbermaid and they have great products but this one needs a little more thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bottle I love the sipper bottle. It's great in the car. Don't have to tip your head back to drink. You can fold the spout down and lay in a purse. It is a little quirky though. With the lid tight it doesn't leak. However, you need to loosen it slightly to drink from it., otherwise it creates a vacuum. Ice cubes will knock the straw loose when you screw the lid on, if you're not careful. If you take it on an airplane, you need to loosen the lid before drinking or leave the spout open until you are all the way up in the air. Otherwise the pressure inside will make the contents shoot out the spout when you lift it to drink. Had that experience. If you put the lid in the utensil container, if the gasket comes off it won't get lost. I lost one too, and replacements don't seem to be available.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaky design Got this when I when I thought I was getting the chug top but thought it would be good for when I work out. Opening the sipper to drink position sometimes draws liquid up and out. Leaving on the counter I can come back and find liquid coming out the sipper. Straw inside comes detached easily and you end having to fish it out and re-attach it. Stick with the chug top, have not tried the squirt top. If they sell replacements lids I'll get a couple more chug top lids to replace these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cups! I love most of the features of these cups, but they are extemely hard to find in my area! When I find them I buy 5 at a time. I would definitely recommend them. Great for long trips, for the most part they don't spill and wash up great in the dishwasher!
Date published: 2009-02-21
Rated 3 out of 5 by from only problem I love the bottle but when I tried to wash the entire lid, the black washer went down the drain. I do not know how to replace so now I will have to buy another. Suggestion, offer orings for replacement parts.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Covered in OJ I'm covered in OJ because if you leave juice in the sip container and leave the top closed when you go to open it - sometimes you will be doused with the contents. This has happened several times to me. In addition, it is a very noisy drinking device and the straw detaches when you don't want it to. Buy something else.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not so "leakproof" The first day I used this is had leaked all over my car before I got to work. It continues to leak each time i tip it to take a drink. I really wish it was designed better. I have looked for a large size bottle that fits a cup holder for a LONG time. What a bummer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had one for a long time These are perfect for travel and with one way valve removed will adapt for hot drinks and sodas. Many of my friends have requested this container as gifts.
