Powerful yet Nimble Chainsaw!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my third chainsaw I have used and my current go to chainsaw. it is versatile and easy to use. Compared to a gas chainsaw it is incredibly light weight yet still feels solid. I currently use the 12 amp battery size and that enables me to do a lot of clearing of very large black cherry trees, poplar, red oak, and maple all ranging about 14"-20" width. Even when the tree's are slightly larger the 16" bar performs amazing even with the hard woods. My only suggestion is to ensure you have backup batteries and keep an eye on the chain tightness as mine cut into the plate.

Garbage
total crap. Used it for maybe six months. probably didn’t use it more than 10 times. Just stopped working. was barely outside of warranty. They didn’t care they. don’t stand by their products.

Don't buy DeWalt
Leaks oil from day 1. Terrible design. Adding oil to the reservoir means adding dirt, dust, and wood chips, even if you clean the spout well. In general, I decided to go all in on 60V DeWalt. Their tools have continued to fail for me and are comparable to cheap Riobi power tools. I have invested thousands, giving them a second chance. Tools that have failed for me include drills, impact drivers, air compressors, weed whackers, and now the cheap chainsaw. However, their prices continue to go up. Amazing the lack of pride and cheapness in their products.

I Love DeWalt, But Don't Buy This Chainsaw
I have been using two DeWalt chainsaws (this one and a 20V DCCS620 which works great with a Flexvolt battery) very consistently over a year, both of them have oil leaking issues, which is annoying, but pretty easy to get over, just make sure to have something to sit the saws on to catch the oil and don't put them away with full oil reservoirs. The real problem with this saw is that the chain keeps coming off, which other reviewers have noted. I want to love this saw, it has so much torque and power when it works and with a sharp chain it just tears through hardwood logs, that is, until the chain comes off, which happens a lot. One reviewer had more specifics on how that happens, but I thought it was something off with my saw so I replaced my chain, bar, and spring tensioner which did get the chain to stay on a bit longer, but it still popped off. I have none of these problems with my DCCS620 chainsaw and have ended up needing to use it to cut through logs much larger than one would normally use it for and using wedges to keep the chain from getting stuck or pinched where a chainsaw with more torque would do just fine and have never once had the chain come off that small chainsaw, so there is something up with the design of this 16" saw that just causes the chain to come off and make it very unusable. I love DeWalt tools and have a small arsenal of them, but this saw has design flaws that make it so it isn't really usable in a real setting under any load. So for now, it's probably best to stick with a gas saw if you need power, or the DCCS620 if you only need small work done, which sucks, but I can't recommend this saw.

Don’t buy this one
Cuts great for a few batteries but is really only good for trimming trees. We used ours to cut trees up and it only lasted three batteries. Took it in and got another and this one lasted longer but right at a year it quit. Probably cut a pickup full of wood. Chain cuts into the plastic case and nothing on the sprocket to keep it in place. Really a bad design. Leaks oil all over the place if setting up right. They probably should have hired a better engineer to design it.

Do Not Buy. Awful Quality
I only bought this two months ago and has been back for repair twice under warranty only to fail a third time. The chain keeps coming off the sprocket, followed by the screw that holds the washer over the sprocket becoming stripped or the washer fails. It continues to do this after only a handful of uses. I replaced the screw again, only this time used a lock washer to keep it tight--worked longer, but eventually failed again. Now the chainsaw is destined to be recycled and I need to purchase another one. As for power, that wasn't an issue. When it worked well, it worked well. But what good is a chainsaw that has a screw that always strips or washer fails What a wasted of money and wish I never purchased now. Its a shame as other DeWalt tools I purchased have been perfect, this just seems poor quality.

Oil reservoir leaks
I own lots of dewalt tools and have always enjoyed their product. I like the saw but it has stained my garage floor with all the oil it leaks. I also find the chain falls off all the time. No lack in power just not well built.
