Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BUY...Please don't buy! Been a DeWalt fan for many years and will still purchase their tested tools in the future. Purchased this saw because of reputation of past purchases and their history for making great tools. Saw and battery create a strong tool for general use but chain adjustment system is horrible. Too much plastic and poor design to hold up to even casual residential use. Save yourself the frustrations and investment for another type saw. This is the only DeWalt tool that has ever let me down and generally a bad purchase choice considering the amount of cash invested to learn the true performance.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks Bar oil constantly Got this saw, only used twice, cuts amazing! But it leaks bar oil no matter how it’s stored, makes a huge mess, very disappointed wouldn’t recommend if there all designed this way! Also the oil fill cap never came with a oring installed, replaced with a oring and now oil leaks internally throughout the saw

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for small branches Saw is good for small branches only . It’s very disappointing when attempt to cut 7inch or bigger logs. Need a bunch of fully charged batteries and takes longer time to cut

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked Great until the Motor failed I was looking for a electric chainsaw that I could quickly pull out to complete quick tasks. This chainsaw exceeded my expectations for performance of an electric chainsaw. It was easy to use and had plenty of power. Unfortunately, after about the 3rd battery the motor started smoking and quit running. Lucky I only bought it a few weeks ago so I was able to take it back to the store for a refund. I really liked the chainsaw and would like to get another one but am hesitant because of the motor issue I experienced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quarantine BFF I bought this and a blower as a combo with a 60v battery and it has been my best friend since March (sad, I know). I am a homeowner and not a chainsaw guy. I had one gas chainsaw a few years back and it never started and scared the heck out of me. The chainsaw is perfect. Charge the battery, add some bar chain oil and roll. I cut down two 30-foot maple trees, two dead cherry trees with trunks about two feet in diameter, and endless low-hanging limbs and branches. It has plenty of power and cuts like a champ. It does drink bar chain oil pretty fast and the reservoir is small, but it’s a small price to pay. If I were a logger or lumberjack, this would be a problem, but not for me and my occasional use. The battery lasts longer than I do so when I take a break I plug it in and recharge. The chain has jumped off twice but both times were my fault when I was cutting above my head (as the manual says not too) and the falling branch knocked it off. Lesson learned. The chain was really easy to get back on and no tools were needed to tighten (or loosen) the chain. I am thrilled with this purchase and am a little sad that I have nothing left in the yard that needs cutting!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chain won't stay on It tore through a 20" maple log and got excited about the chainsaw. The I tried to cut all the small branches and that's when my day of discontent began. The saw just can't cut brush. The guide around the sprocket is too small and the chain jumps off the track when you can't maintain constant pressure. Getting the chain back on is a hassle. I bet I spent five minutes each time and I had to do it six times yesterday. I would have done it more, but I put the chainsaw away and used my loppers. One time I fixed the chain and then the saw would not run for more than a second. It might have over heated, but I couldn't tell. I used hand tools for an hour and then the saw came back to like. And before you ask: Yes, I had the tension set in accordance with the instructions. The good news is that no tools are required to get the

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Almost lasted a year I bought it Sep 11, 2019 and June 1, 2020 I depressed the trigger and "Click Click" That was all she wrote. Maybe went through 4 battery charges on it. The 3.0 battery size. I gave it a extra star because it worked ok while it worked. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My BEST Chainsaw When I purchased my DeWalt Flexvolt chainsaw almost a year ago now, I had previously been using 1 of 2 small 16" bar gasoline powered chainsaws. These were both identical saw except that one was several years older than the other one. The reason that I owned 2 identical chainsaws was that both saws were hard starting if sitting around for months at a time. These saws were NOT cheap off brand chainsaws. They are of probably the most popular brand that gasoline powered chain saws come from. So I had been trying to keep one of these saws working while the other was in the shop under repair, usually carburetor work. I am retired now and I am caretaker for a hunting "crew" from out of state. There are about 1,000 acres that I manage for these elite gentleman. I need a chainsaw that is quick starting but MOST of all reliable with little maintenance required. This DeWalt cordless electric chainsaw is the absolute answer for driving my 4-wheeler along the many miles of trails in these woods, clearing away fallen branches, dead fall trees etc. Gone now are the days of driving short distances, getting off my wheeler, having to start up a gasoline saw, cut for a few seconds, then shut it off and drive down around the next bend and do that all over again! Now with my Flexvolt, I just hop off the wheeler, push the button, cut, and be on my way. Also I have had several open area clearing projects with it. The first time that I used my DeWalt for that, I thought that I might need a backup,(I didn't know how long the battery would last) so I put both gasoline saws in my small trailer. Each time I ran my DeWalt for about an hour clearing 6 inch tress and small brush. I have run the battery down after over an hour of cutting, but never had the saw quit working. That might be because unlike a gasoline saw, the DeWalt is not using up power between trigger activation. Occasionally I would glance into my trailer and notice the 2 saws and remember how their chains would loosen, and then with small brush pop off. The automatic chain tension on the DeWalt cured THAT problem. The chain never came off once! After that first clearing escapade, I had more room in my trailer, because NEITHER of those gas saws were there anymore taking up room! lol [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
