Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money Dont buy this product. Its a waste of money. The grass seed never sprouts unless you live in the NE. NOT for use in SW even though it says it is. We have watered the grass 2x per day for 2 weeks and the seeds are still on the ground like we just distributed them from the bag.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No key information Scotts does an awful job of sharing product specifics, as in for a grass seed mix what is the mix of seed-type content. No info on % Fescue and % Perennial (vs annual) Rye Grass mix. Scotts of course knows this....just terrible customer orientation. Totally limits what I go to Scotts to buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice features It was easy to see where this had been spread due to the color of the seed. Make sure you are using this on loosened soil. Loosening the soil helps the seed stay in place when you water. Better to water often for shorter intervals. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t grow I used three types of seeds in different parts of my large yard, just to see which did well. This is did not sprout a single blade of grass. The other two brands all have 1 inch blades growing. Followed directions exactly. Not a good product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Complete Failure Bought for my 2000'sq front yard to overseed. Followed instructions: mowed low, raked out thatch etc, rake prepped soil, spread seed & re raked in. Watered every day plus for 4 weeks... NADA!! All that effort & expense for NOTHING! Quit using Scott's Weed & Feed for Bayer a while back. My advice = stay away from Scotts!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Lawn Area Growing up as a kid, my father would only use Scott’s products. Now that I maintain my own lawn in my recently bought house I was looking to repair a lot of bare spots and new lawn areas after removing lots of brush and weeds. A buddy of mine was doing the same and bought 2 50lb bags of contractor grade seed. I was about to do the same since he paid much less than the Scotts brand. I doubted that brand and went ahead and bought 2 50lb bags of Scott’s. Needless to say my new lawn began to sprout within 5 days and full thick growth at 3 weeks, just in time for November. My buddies grass? Not so well. Grass came in patchy and then completely died off within two weeks. Super happy I listened to my pops and now have a thick beautiful lawn. I will be completing the rest of my yard with all Scott’s products, thank you Scott’s!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Germination Followed instructions. Optimal weather conditions. Used Scotts lawn soil as directed. Adjusted irrigation system properly. Less than 15% of the seeds germinated after 30 days. Would never purchase this product again. Would not recommend it either.
