Rated 4 out of 5 by from flexio 590 sprayer PAINTS WELL ONLY ISSUE I HAD WAS THE PLASTIC CANISTER WOULD NOT UNSCREW FROM THE GUN BECAUSE THE PAINT DRIED TO FAST INSIDE THE THREADS, IT TOOK ME 1 HOUR TO RUN HOT AND COLD WATER OVER IT BEFORE I COULD FINISH MY PAINT JOB. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY NOT TO SCREW THE PLASTIC CANISTER TO TIGHT ONTO THE GUN OR THIS ISSUE WILL OCCUR. WISH THE INSTRUCTIONS STATED THAT.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I am not a pro so I don't buy or can I afford pro Equipment, but I got to tell ya this product works very well. I recommend you practice with it first to learn its little idiosyncrasies that I have found with all spray paint guns. The detail nozzle is awesome. If using Latex and cant complete the project all at once be prepared to clean your gun. Latex will dry quickly and clog.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible spatter maker, hard to clean up You CAN NOT break latex paint into fine particles with blowing air. An airless is necessary. I have been spray painting for over 30 years. Wagner makes some good products. This is not one of them. Spatter was all over the place. Particles were not fine like an airless. Clean up was time consuming. I thought I would save time and get a good job spraying doors latex. Neither was true. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS INFERIOR PRODUCT!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better than previous, still not what I expected I like this product. This is my 2nd Wagner sprayer, and this one is much better than the previous one (vaccum type box with long connecting hose to sprayer, don't know the model number). That being said, I still don't know if this is my last sprayer or the one I'm impressed enough to tell everyone about. I have issues with un-thinned latex spraying in more of a splatter pattern. Like other reviewers, I have had to take it all apart, clean it and continue. That helps, but still doesn't give a spray that is consistent with what you'd expect a spray finish to look like. My first experience was painting a room. The fog was so thick I ended up having to rent a carpet scrubber to get black paint off the ground. I assumed a pressure issue and inexperience, but was hopeful I'd figure it out. Just last weekend I was spraying some interior doors white (doing it outside this time :) ) and I ended up putting it away and using a brush to get a smoother finish. For as much as I WANT to love this unit, I'm struggling. I don't think I would dare try painting a fireplace mantle like the commercial shows, but I was hopeful I could leave the brushes in the drawer a bit more than I do. Overall good product, it does spray un-thinned paint, its quiet, its not hard to clean but does take some effort....overall pretty good. Just maybe not what I expected. Then again, I'm still not convinced it wasn't user error.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good value; however trouble with spray quality For the price, this is a good value. It allows you to get close to coat the project to minimize overspray. The controls allow good flexibility of coverage. The biggest issue is the quality and consistency of the spray. Many times the spray would come out in splotches, which required me to wipe off the paint, take apart the spray nozzle and reassemble, then respray. Clean up is fairly straight forward with minimal pieces to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is amazing!!! I didn't even want to think of painting, until I bought this product. I'm in the process of getting my house ready to sell and one of the task my wife had for me was to "PAINT" the whole interior. Well I finally made it to the bottom of the list and painting was the only thing left. This sprayer is turning me into a paint lover!!! It's actually a blast to use and if you read the directions, it's a simple chore to clean up. I've only used it for one room so far, but can't wait to paint the rest of the house. It is very easy to use and gets the paint on fast. It probably took about 2-3 times using it, to figure out how to adjust it for best coverage, but once this happens, it does a great job. It's a little heavy, but that just insures I don't have to worry about my wife taking it away from me. My only problem is that there is not the option to order parts for it online, like filters, gasket, nozzle, ect. Overall, I think this product is user friendly and does a great job for what it is designed for. I'm not a professional painter, but I feel like one with this in my hand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First time using Flexio 590 I just bought the unit and the first run of kitchen cupboards I was thrilled with the result and excited for the week ahead of spraying. Next day I was filling the paint pot with paint all set to go and the sprayer just spat out paint after the trigger was released. I looked at the nosel to see a crack in the cone that holds the needle. So I had to switch to the fine finishing gun and spent a lot longer spraying my kitchen. I was upset that a new product could just break like that and am currently going to try get a new part shipped to me so I can finish what I started.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poorly made The sprayer itself worked great but for the nozzle to crack after only a couple of weeks is ridiculous. It might not be as bad if you could find replacement parts but they are non existent.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from paint tip problem i used the isprayer for several small jobs. the first tip poured out paint when trigger released. received a second tip which worked well for most of one job but started leaking just like the first. received a third tip which leaked when tested with water. at this point i returned the sprayer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Sprayer, Spend the Time Getting The Flow Right I used the Flexio590 for painting 7 doors and about 300' of baseboard for my basement. It does a great job of spraying evenly and with the right paint and technique it leaves a very smooth finish on the materials you paint. Do make sure, though, that you have a big piece of cardboard or an area where you can make several test passes as you adjust both the airflow and the material trigger adjustor. It is easy to get the combination "wrong" and you will either get paint blobs that you'll have to roll out (not a bad technique, but annoying); or too-light spray and you'll have to move VERY SLOW to get good coverage. This is a huge leap in innovation from a clean-up and use standpoint vs. the old Wagner sprayer I have and I am happy to have this in my toolkit for future projects, small and large.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Definitely not as good as compressor sprayer I had a paint sprayer that came with an air compressor kit about 10 years ago. It sat in a drawer until I needed to finish my daughter's bed with it. The finish came out awesome! This was the first time I ever used a paint sprayer. I then bought the Felxio 590 because of the noise and it being able to go where my air compressor can't. I was severely disappointed in this product. The iSpray nozzle doesn't paint as much as it just throws paint at your work surface. No matter the feed volume, air velocity, or spray pattern, it would not spray a nice even coat. The detail nozzle sprays an extremely small amount of the paint. I ended up painting a dresser with this zozzle, but it took me 8 coats to where it was presentable. TLDR: Great idea, bad implimentation. Chep spray gun was much better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Read the directions!!! Understand your equipment before use. It's as simple as that. Ripping this product out of the box like a five year old on Christmas and going straight to painting will likely lead to undesirable results. This product worked flawless for a novice like me the first time wIth five minutes of practice. The directions were very clear from Wagner and there's additional content on YouTube if that isn't enough. I'm not a painter and have no relation with Wagner, but I can appreciate a good product when I find one. I'll be excited to see what longevity I can obtain since my usage is limited to a couple uses at this time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product was awesome for 5 minutes.. This thing worked great for five minutes or so, then it began surging and spurting and slinging gobs of paint everywhere. Instructions were followed to the letter and still this! Maybe good for painting a treehouse or something out side but certainly not for interiors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where have you been all my life? In 66 years of backyard carpentry projects and home handymanning, my new Wagner Flexio 590 is the first paint sprayer I've ever used. Now, my only question is, where have you been all my life? One evening this week I used my new Flexio 590 to paint two big book shelves, one free standing and one built in, with all kinds of odd angles and tricky corners. I know from years of experience that jobs like this take forever with rollers and brushes. With the 590 it took 45 minutes. I'm happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick, Easy to Use with Quality Results I first tried the Wagner Flexio 590 sprayer on a couple of doors that needed painting. There are a few cool features right off the bat. First, it comes with a nozzle for spraying bigger items like walls and doors, AND a detail nozzle when you need a finer spray, like on furniture. Second, it is powerful enough that you don't have to thin your paint. But, third, it doesn't require an air compressor. Set up was really very easy. Just fill up the container with your paint, attach the nozzle, and then the trigger/sprayer apparatus. The various control options were also very easy to learn. The process was so quick and easy, I am officially a paint sprayer convert. The results ended up so much more uniform than using a brush for the angles and rolling the flat surfaces. Clean-up only involved cleaning out the paint container, filling it with soapy water and spraying into an empty bucket. Then you disassemble and tidy up the pieces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product - easy to use - easy to clean and maintain If you need a variety of coating patterns and/or detailed coatings this product is for you. The unit comes with 2 spray mechanisms that can adjusted for your particular application. I use it for exterior latex applications and really appreciate not having to thin paint before applying. The large paint reservoir holds a generous amount which minimizes the number of refills required but does add weight to the front of the unit. This may be uncomfortable for those with weak wrists and a hand under the reservoir may be necessary. Time for clean-up, no problem. Spray heads will separate and re-assemble without the need of an engineering background.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Just Like an Air Brush First of all - I love the product and I love the tech support. This works just like an air brush: First control your air, then control the material flow. Second make sure your material isn't to thick for the sprayer. Third make sure all your parts are and stay clean and it will work for you for a long time. - I needed 2 more bowls for the sprayer (1 for iSpray & 1 for detailer# so I could spray some cleaner through it #I.e. - Latex=water) if I was going to take a break, and I couldn't find them anywhere. So I came here and found the reviews. This is so cool because they're responding to the reviews with helpful info. I saw their # on a response, called and bought 2 new bowls lickety split. - By the way, you just need to be 10% smarter than what your working with. If your not, call tech support they're awesome. - Lastly, if you roll right behind the fresh spray with a damp roller, it will get rid of any splatter and any inconsistencies that you might have.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your $$$ I spent a month building a bookshelf for my granddaughter. I sanded and sanded until it was perfect. I primed first and then came time to paint. I chose this product to obtain a slick finish. What a joke. This sprayer spit out globs of paint that made the finish look like sandpaper. What happen to an even spray? I have never seen anything this poor in my life. Thanks Wagner for ruining my project. Will never buy another product of yours because it's junk!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected.. I was somewhat apprehensive due to some of the negative reviews. I decided to give it a try. I used the detail sprayer with exterior latex enamel mixed with Flotrol at a 4/1 ratio. I painted the trim and gutters on my house without a problem and they look great. A neighbor asked if I would help him paint his roll-up garage doors. He had some 5 year old exterior latex that we again added Flotrol at 4/1 and used the larger spray head. I had to turn the paint volume and air pressure down but the doors came out beautiful. Others asked if he bought new doors. Clean up is a breeze compared to my airless and so far I am more than happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing works I just finished spraying the unfinished ceiling in our basement bathroom dark grey, and the walls pure white, and the Flexio 590 worked like a charm. Clean up after each use took about 10 - 15 minutes to do a very through cleaning as I like to keep my tools looking like new. Can't wait to paint the metal patio furniture next Summer! I used Benjamin Moore paint straight from the can, no thinning was necessary.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Finicky, hard to clean, leaks or drips Model Flexio 590 with the iSpray nozzle, narrow width and unthinned Zinsser oil based primer. I thoroughly read all the instructions, practiced getting an acceptable finish on waste material and started on my project. About halfway through, the nozzle began leaking and spitting. The "half-trigger" turbine setting became non-existent and paint sprayed at ALL trigger settings# After releasing the trigger, paint continued to dribble out the nozzle until the pressure in the holder was relieved# It made a mess# I tried various settings within the recommended parameters and it was still not working properly# Oil based clean-up is miserable# You use a LOT of mineral spirits and where do you spray it? The manual-depicted image of spraying into a "waste container" is patently unsafe# You're spraying a solvent at close range into a circular container that blows back at you# I used an empty 5 gallon bucket and was still nervous and felt blow-back of the spray# I 'finally' after using the provided cleaning brush, small rags, and a LOT of time, cleaned the primer out of the pick-up tube #NO paint was in the air-tube, so that wasn't the problem# and most of the nozzle# Note: 'swirling' solvent as recommended in the provided instructions doesn't clean the reservoir# Then you repeat the process again with soapy water# It was then I noticed the perfomance of the nozzle improve and I got the "half-trigger" function back but ONLY on one setting: horizontal works good, vertical = spraying and spitting# I played with this to confirm: half trigger + horizontal = no spray; keep depressed and rotate to vertical - yep spitting soapy water. Holding the trigger to half and rotating back - yep, spray stops. Clearly a nozzle clog problem and NOT operator error. I presume that the thick oil-based primer builds up in the tube and nozzle and can't flow back down in to the container. Over time - i.e. during normal use - this clogs the nozzle. Maybe the results would be different with thinned primer, but how much trial-and-error can you afford to do with a "time-saving" product when it takes a pint or more of mineral spirits and an hour to clean the darn thing and try again? If you're using a thick product, I'd recommend thinning to at least 80% of the maximum recommended amount and not following the instructions to start unthinned, or just don't use thick products, or only use latex and plan on cleaning the nozzle during the job. Or use a brush. Additional comment: the cleaning instructions provided in the package appear to be a different revision than those online. I can't say better or worse, just different.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from a defective mess The very first time I used it, I started spraying and when I released the trigger to stop spraying paint poured out of the nozzle. It made a huge mess. I found many other people on the internet with the same problem, paint leaking from the nozzle. If you do buy the flexio I suggest keeping a bucket or tarp close by the first time you use it. search youtube flexio 590 flaw, mine was worse than the one in the video.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made quick work on exterior trim of house I decided to purchase this sprayer for the exterior trim of our house. Even with masking off it saved several hours of brushing and an airless would have been too much for the areas. 1. Strain all paints and you will save the aggravation of having a clogged gun. 2. Thin the paint just a little, if it is very heavy in viscosity 3. Mask off areas, not to be painted the effort will pay off. 4. Take your time and practice on a piece of cardboard. 5. Clean the gun and make sure you put the plastic washer back in place with the groove facing out. The results speak for themselves , the trim looks like a high end car finish.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK!!!! Used the sprayer twice. When it worked, it was fine. However the third time, it wouldn't spray even clear water. It was cleaned according to the instructions after both times I used the gun. When it wouldn't spray paint the third time, a few day later, I recleaned the entire spray gun IAW instructions. Still nothing but air comes out the nozzel. I read where there were problems like this with Wagner , but I've have always taken care of my equipment anf thought it was lazy users. Well, it not lazy users,. Its poorly designed equipment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeded Expectations!! I had a Wagner airless sprayer and did not like the noise and the general feel of the unit. I gave it away after a few years. I saw the Flexio and bought it. I sprayed two year old Behr latex paint onto an exterior door. What a pleasure! That thick paint went on nicely. Perfect job!! Thanks, Wagner!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Paint sprayer I've owned The Wagner Flexio590 comes attractively packaged in a black case and wrapped by a cardboard sleeve. The packaging lays out in both pictures and written description the parts of the spray system and the applications for which the system can be used. When you open the latches on the case, you have a quick start guide and general instruction manual, a quick start guide for interior paint spraying and thinning instructions. Beneath the printed material are molded compartments for the X-Boost variable speed Sprayer, two containers for paint, spray nozzle, detail/finish nozzle, multi-purpose tool and a couple of cardboard funnels. The spray nozzle (for larger jobs) has a spray window level and adjusting ring. It comes with a power dial to adjust the level of air power generated by the turbine. The finish nozzle is designed to spray thinner materials, such as oil based stains and paints. It is crafted to leave a smoother finish for the finished job. Our first project was painting a bathroom. One thing we quickly learned was that it is extremely important to prep the area to be painted. The masking guide was helpful in terms of how to set up the room for painting. The instructions gave instructions for draping a door, the walls and floor. Once that was accomplished, it was time to use the Flexio590. After we suited up-goggles and baseball hat-we filled the paint container, replaced the top adjusted the flow (horizontal or vertical) and started to spray. My technique was to start the edge of the wall and work into the middle. In the middle of the open area, I increased the flow and concentrated on keeping the sprayer parallel to the ceiling at the end of the spray stroke. The spray coverage was good . Once I got down, it was much easier then rolling the ceiling and walls. The finished product was better than I have managed in the past with either a brush or roller.
