Widely useful for house painting prep
I used six containers of this 3M product on my redwood siding during house painting prep. I closed up 5 inch vent holes, reconstructed broken trim, planarized soffits with chipped paint, covered nail heads, and filled cracks and knotholes. I generally let the putty cure at least 48 hours before sanding and priming. The resulting repaired surfaces are flawlessly smooth and hard.

Excellent Product!! It Works!
I searched extensively to include watching tons of YT videos, and even returned the pink kit, before deciding on this..the YT video sold me..this guy compare 10 ways to repair drywall holes and this was the best for me and my skill set. I do not understand why folks are failing with this! Fact..the back of your drywall must have at least 98% of it paper intact..the tape must not be touched or dusty..I followed directions exactly except I did do a dry fit to see any barriers that I might have, in case I need to cut, etc. No need. Wipe the back of the hole with a damp cloth..let dry 1 hr. (overkill) took off paper strips, folded in a bit keeping a finger in to seperate, inserted, turned, pressed with my finger and pulled on the straps which was holding my weight for a full minute! When I let go, it was solid! I did have suoer glue/duct tape/dowel just in case it didnt work but it did!

Best spackle ever
I had a plumbing leak from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor ceiling that happened before a while back. unfortunately the water bulged all 4 sides of the old repair panels which are about 12" square. Normally I would have a giant project to put new tape, spackle a giant area, sand, more coats, sand, more coats, sand. I cleaned out the cracked drywall and spread one coat and all set, very light wet sponged as it went on so smooth with no shrinking. Since I have done drywall repairs as a doiturselfer for 30 years, I can tell you normal mud dries much slower. As far as how long to dry, it all depends how thick the layer. Be patient, let it dry overnight and it should be dry. If it's super thick it will take longer so add a similar thick layer on some spare cardboard, and use that as your gauge. For my purpose of covering a fine crack, this reinforced spackle saved me hours of time. for the newbies, you cannot cover a crack in drywall with normal spackle, it will just crack again. Great invention.

Great kit!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great little kit for patching holes! I live in an old house and the walls have been painted so many times that we often get holes when we hang up pictures, etc. This kit is perfect for patching up those holes!

Works
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The wall repair is exactly what I needed to fix some holes I had in the wall. I used it to fix nail holes and a spot the door had made. It worked perfect. I just applied it like the directions said and let it dry. It was easy to paint over as well. I definitely suggest this for anyone looking to fill some holes.

Great product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product patched a hole that was in my wall perfect. You can't even tell there was ever a hole there, with some other products you can still yell there was a hole there before but not with this one.

So easy, and smooth as buttah!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such a simple and fast solution for this busy mom. I've got kids, which means I've got thumbtack, nail, screw holes in the wall as well as bump dents from doors flung open too hard, and of course the mystery holes...
Anyway, this 3M large hole repair is amazing. It's light and fluffy and fibrous. It goes on so smooth and dries hard quickly, so fixing a hole start to finish, including painting, is done in a matter of minutes.
