Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product for drainage for succulents. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High quality product. Allows for proper drainage. Does not have a foul oder as some other brands do. Perfect sized bag for a few small plants. Light weight package easy to use. Plants love it and thrive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Full of fungus gnats I split my 30 year old snake plant and used this soil exclusively. I’ve had nonstop fungus gnats for 6 months to the point that I’m sure this is not actually soil, but just a bag of gnat larvae. I’ve tried all the tricks on the internet, mosquito dunks, hydrogen peroxide, sticky traps, drying out the soil, bottom watering. Now I’m going to have to try and repot it in the middle of winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fruit flies and gnat ridden. Fruit flies and gnat ridden. For just over the past two years we have experienced fruit flies and gnats at a huge degree which we never experienced before. The soil hardens at the top and offers little drainage your plants will always want water unless you aerate it and brake up the soil weekly. We will never use this product again. We repot in the fall when we bring the pots in to ensure no bugs being transferred into the house little did we know this soil will just fill your house with little biting flies one pot even grew mushrooms. Clearification roots rinsed, pots cleaned, and brought indoors for winter with new potting soil, there is 0 reasons other than this soil being horrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must let dry When I first started with succulents, it was a learning curve, for sure. However, after much trial and error, I find usually any root rot I’ve experienced , no matter the brand of soil, (in retrospect) has been due to user error. Good luck all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fungus gnats and poor drainage killed herit plants I inherited a Christmas cactus from my grandmother. She had had it for over 40 years, propigating many offspring for her children and grandchildren. I had it for many years, moving it across the country several times. I also propigated several plants to give to my children when they were grown and settled. This year, the plants were becoming rather crowded, so I repotted them using Miracle-Gro succulent potting soil. It was a busy summer, and I was not paying close attention as they were dwindling and dropping leaves. I realized they were in trouble when I was being swarmed by fungus gnats, and noticed that the soil was wet, even though I had not been watering for a while. It was not draining. I tried removing the plants and sterilizing the soil, to no avail. Sadly, I've lost all 4 plants. I couldn't believe Miracle-Gro soil would be so terrible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Soils I only use Miracle-Gro Potting Soils and Garden Soils. My husband brought home a cheaper brand one time when I requested Miracle-Gro, the quality was bad and alot of weed seeds. I will NEVER use anything else again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fungus gnats! I've used Miracle Grow soil for everything for many years with great results. however, my recent purchases 7 of the last 10 bags of the Cactus and Succulent soil have come with fungus gnats. My once healthy plants are slowly dying as I try everything to get rid of these pests. I even dumped all of the old soil, washed the roots, and replanted in brand new terracotta containers to get rid of them, but sadly, I used more Miracle Grow Cactus and Succulent soil for repotting, so the problem continues.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed My husband bought 3 bags of this cactus mix. After reading reviews I was hesitant to use it, but decided to try one bag and give it a chance. Like others, I experienced both root rot in my aloe plants and an infestation of fungus gnats.
