Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inconsistent cooking I used my waffle iron the first time this morning. It was easy to unpack and set up, although I would have greatly preferred that they didn't use environmentally-unfriendly styrofoam packaging. I conditioned the cooking surfaces and allowed to cool as instructed. I then pre-heated the iron as directed. The instructions suggest a cooking time of 2 - 3 minutes; I found that 6 - 7 minutes much more suited my preference for waffles. Three minutes barely cooks the batter to an edible solid. Full disclosure: I use Snoqualmie Falls waffle mix and prepare it to a thicker consistency than might be considered "normal." The only flaw I found is that the outer rim of the waffle iron - and for about one inch towards the center - cooks inconsistently around its circumfrence; some areas were barely cooked, while others were better cooked. Other than that, it performed well. One suggestion I would have is that there be at least an on-off switch - and, at best, a rheostat - so you didn't have to plug and unplug it to turn it on and off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from After a year, it's not nonstick anymore I have used this every weekend for a year. I wiped the pan with kitchen paper towels after use. After a year, It's not non-stick anymore. Very disappointed. And it seems I can't replace the pan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3 years work - excellent of course I will advise you to visit Liege (Belgium) and try there best waffles ever, but if you skilled a little bit and can cook using recipe from internet you need this machine to make it easier faster and will help you save money on waffles purchased in store. we use it for Belgian waffles, pancakes as sweet as sour one

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does a great job of cooking waffles, however.... I have only made waffles with it about 8 times and the hinge just broke. Is there any way to get replacement pieces to push in the sides where the lid pivots? This seems to be a weak point from other reviews. Has anything been done to remedy this weakness?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not recommended We got it two years ago. Was used average once in two months. Now went to the garbage because of becoming sticky. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Totally sucks!! I barley bought this 2 days ago since I love other black and decker products....but real real terrible waffles being the first time my boyfriend tried them and he hated them....so embarrassing. They came out all soggy and all discolored not one normal golden brown color and it releases a nasty chemical taste. Would definitely NOT recommended at ALL.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great waffles & Bad hinges We were given the waffle maker as a present. It makes great waffles but the hingle pegs holding it together is made of a brittle plastic. The hinges spontaneously broke into pieces after a few months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality This appliance is poorly made. It is assembled using special screws that fall out and you cannot tighten them back because of the proprietary screw heads. So now I have a wafflemaker that falls apart every time I use it. I would return it if I had the receipt. This one is poorly made. Don't buy this one!!!
