FULL OF SEDGE WEED
Days after we spread Miracle Gro Garden Soil in our landscape garden we began to see grass-like weeds popping up. They took over the garden and grew at a ridiculous speed. We pull all of them and 3 days later they are back, growing right through the 4 inches of mulch we have laid down. They are impossible to kill. This has cost me and my family HOURS AND HOURS of time pulling weeds in the sweltering Florida sun. So many hours! At first I didn’t know where these weeds came from. But a few weeks later we used another bag of the same soil in a raised garden bed, and as I shook the soil out of the bag I found these same weeds growing in the soil INSIDE of the sealed new bag. And sure enough, we can’t grow anything in that garden bed now, the sedge weed has choked everything out. It’s infuriating that a product that’s supposed to help my garden grow has ruined our garden and has cost us so much time and money. DON’T BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

It's not soil
I've been maintaining my own yard since I was a kid, and now being 50 I just recently bought a new home. Now redoing the yard to level it out properly for the winter grass seed to be thrown and finding more wood chips than dirt is not good. I prefer to take my shredded papers, egg shells, banana peels, etc. as well as to use the leaves and grass clippings to continue producing a rich soil making my grass and plants grow very well. Wood chips is not top soil!!!

It's a Miracle Anything Grows
Dissappointed in the quality of the garden soil. Built brand new garden beds, and bought bags of Miracle Garden soil to start, until the new compost bin material was viable for use.
Was surprised to find pieces of shredded plastic bags, pieces of hard plastic, twisted pieces of metal, and even glass in the soil from the Miracle Grow bags.
I am now concerned about the safety of the soil, and will need to test for toxins. Not what was expected for a name brand product.

beer bottles in garden soil
I opened a new bag of garden soil. The first thing I came across where some good sizes sticks. Then while planting some new flowers, I was putting in the new soil and felt a sharp pain. I pulled my hand out and my finger was bleeding. I looked through the soil and found a piece of broken beer bottle. Now I have a red swollen finger and have no idea what else I was exposed to from the soil. I would like to hear from you about this incident. Buyer make sure you check that soil before you put your hand in there !!!

Dead Wood shavings, vines and Junk!!
For years we have used Miracle Gro Soil and Potting Soil. We recently bought four bags of the Garden Soil to use as filler for the garden and do some patching elsewhere. I opened two bags and was shocked to see something that looked like dry garbage!! The bags were Full of wood pieces, shavings, sticks, vines and weeds. It didn't look like or feel anything like Soil. Just incredibly dry, useless junk. We taped the bags and will be returning them to our Garden Center for a refund. Looks like I wasn't the only one, their site is full of negative reviews of this product for the same reasons. Too bad we can't post photos.

New definition of soil
I usually have been satisfied with Miracle Grow products, and past experience is the reason for selecting their "all purpose garden soil." I did not realize that I could take my chainsaw to a tree, sweep up what was on the ground and call it soil. This stuff was easily 50% wood shards and bark. You have to wear gloves to avoid getting splinters. Maybe in 3-4 years after microbes have had an opportunity to degrade it, it will become soil.
