Replacement Stanley plane blade is garbage
I finally had to replace the blade for my Surform Pocket Plane. I have had it for DECADES, and it is my go-to plane for many projects. I bought a name brand (Stanley) replacement blade for it. It lasted exactly 2 days. Luckily I saved the old blade and will just have to put it back on.

This tool is simply like sanding with rough sandpaper. Not a cutter. Little black wheel rotate came off the end and the metal blade won't go back on or stay on the device. Forget about this one, and probably get a more expensive one or another model.

Surform Tools
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have all the versions of Stanley's Surform tools. They make quick work to smooth a surface. The surform blade has 100's of miniture planes in it. It works better than a plane on wood filler and wood with difficult grain patterns. It's a great addition to the traditional block and bench planes.

Great product to get a lot done..
Does an excellent job at leveling, smoothing, and shaping of wood. Probably one of the best tools created for working with wood .

Excellent for quick shaping of soft materials
I love this for down and dirty adjustments for sheetrock, foam, and softer woods. If you're an arts and crafts type hobbyist this is probably one of the best tools I have ever seen for shaping foams and balsa stock. As stated in another review it does take a little practice at first because it does have a great bite to it! Incredibly efficient and while I don't use this as much as my other planes it's a happy addition to my collection.

The speed rasp
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Stanley surform pocket plane about a year ago. Only have had replaced the rasp part one time. I'm the only one on my drywall crew that uses one and I rasp boards faster than anybody on the job. Fits in your hand perfect and knocks the chunks of gypsum off nicely. I have would have to say a its a great product with craftsmans or Stanley's name on it both will do the job with the same efficency.
