Disappointing
Desired actions from using the Roku Streaming Stick, such as pausing, fast forwarding, etc., during recordings, require multiple clicks on the Roku remote control even though there is direct line of sight to the Stick—the RF is no better than IR. This is not limited to only 1 Roku Stick—I have 3 and same problems with all. Response is very erratic, not what I expect from such highly-rated device. Very disappointing. Cable is too expensive but more dependable; that says a lot in itself.

Great Product!
I have had this for a few years. it's been great for our bedroom. It's behind the tv hidden which is a plus! at night when tv on and you wake up to turn it off all you have to do it push power off don't have to worry about pointing it at the tv. haven't had any problems with this one.

Do not buy- get an Apple TV box instead
I'd give it O stars if possible. I've had this about a month and it is defective. It doesn't hold a wifi signal. I have to reconnect each time I get on. I have to sit through the ROKU letters "reboot dance" every time I get on instead of going to home page. While watching something, it will spontaneously reset to the home page. Sometimes it will just go black and I have to reboot to get it working again. It responds to the remote slowly intermittently. I spent this morning on chat with Roku and got nowhere. The tech seemed to think just plugging into the wall would solve all my problems, which I can't do bc of heavy furniture. I have a power block which my previous 2 roku boxes worked just fine with. Apparently the claim that this is portable is erroneous as it can't be powered off the TV and needs to be plugged in using a cable and adapter. The point of getting this was to eliminate the cable. So- this item is just as portable as the boxes bc you have to drag a cable and an adapter with you for either of them. It was working as described above, plugged into the USB port. When I plugged it into the power block I got an insufficient power warning. I was told to thy another plug, which also didn't work. I was then told to unplug everything and try again 30 minutes and do a software update. Now it isn't responding to the remote at all. I requested an replacement several times and was told by the tech that Roku doesn't do exchanges. So I'm stuck with this non-operational hunk of plastic. I have had several Rokus over the years- both boxes and TVs. I have never had any trouble with any of them. The older ones I've given to friends are still working. This one is defective and roku will not stand by their product.

It's fine
I've had the stick for a year with no issues. I like that it doesn't require batteries. It's a bit pricey, and perhaps the Stick 4K would serve just as well as the 4K+. I do resent the review writing guidelines, and that costs one star.

Why are the Roku sticks such crap? I’ve had Roku since they came out -both boxes and TVs. I’ve never had a bit of trouble with any of them. But this is the second Roku stick that has been just plain awful. The first one I bought a few years ago thinking it would be easy- no wires etc., but it just got to the point where I don’t want to work at all. I called and they gave me a replacement. It works fine. But we have to take the batteries out of the remote after every use. Otherwise it just drains the battery‘s dead. That one got moved to the guest room. I thought a few years later and technology would’ve improved. But apparently not. This new one does not stay connected. Every time I turn it on I have to watch it go through the “reboot dance”- every time. Then I have to reconnect to the Internet - every time. Then I can go to the homepage and select the app I want. Also I find the remote the to be sluggish and Unresponsive. The other Rokus in the house and camp work fine- even the really old ones. I should’ve known better than to buy another Roku.

Fragile and Proprietary WiFi Dongle
I bought two of these sticks and will never get another Roku with a WiFi dongle due to problems I've had. The first stick's dongle got snagged on something and after that the Roku would power on, but not connect detect the wifi adapter. Ok, probably my fault so I got another one. This worked and after a while I decided to get a replacement wifi dongle for the one that broke. I'm not sure which one it was, but later I began to have the same issue with the wifi adapter not being found by the Roku stick. To my knowledge, the second one to fail was not pulled, yanked, etc. The one working wifi dongle has been working for a few years now. I would purchase other Roku streaming devices in the future, but only they do bot have a proprietary wifi dongle.

Doesn't work with live TV
Well. This is just muy opinion. I bought this 4k stick a month ago, it doesn't really work for live Spanish Channels un less you are paying for a TV plan with you cable provider, it does work for other apps but specifically doesn't work with Spanish TV channels, I don't really see the point to have Roku stick if you have cable plan,.
As soon as I canceled my TV plan my Roku live app stopped working, I called support and they told me with out the plan roku won't work for live TV, .

Won't stay connected
I've never had trouble with my old Roku, but this one (which was a gift), the 3821x, won't work on my newer TV (it seems to work fine on an old one I no longer use). It keeps "flashing" on the Home screen. It's on, it flashes off, then it's on again. I can't seem to find a fix online.
