Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Poor design leads to rapid product failure. The plastic hub for tightening the tree to the propane bottle has failed on all 4 of the trees which our scout troop owns.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT Have had this for 2 years and used it twice. Connection knob broke while in use. Small center part broke out. Do not purchase!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic Knob Breaks - again and again I have been using Coleman products for years. The first propane distribution tree I purchased had a metal know (of sorts). Was difficult to use, but didn't break. When the new one came out with the plastic knob some years ago, I initially thought that it was an improvement. Not so. They break. It is just a matter of time. They will all break. The tree it self works great, but the knob will eventually break. Poor design. Coleman can do better. Time to redesign this. I just broke the third one. Not purchasing one from Colemen again until it is repaired.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from How to replace the plastic coupling nut This might be the solution and I hope it works. better if there was a "metal" coupling nut, instead of Bakelite (which is a Thermo-setting plastic) char-broil makes a 1/4" coupling-nut that looks exactly like the one attached to the tree...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Propane Distribution Tree My son got me this for my birthday in May. Took it camping last month and when I tried to attach it to the 20 pound tank the plastic know cracked right in half. Can't find anyplace to replace it. Definitely a manufacture design problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plastic Knob Breaks Love the idea of multiple accessories attached to the propane tank and a lantern on top, but as describe in other posts - the plastic knob breaks off! And this was after only 3 camping trips. This is because it has to be tightened very hard to stay upright. I took care of it and never dropped it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design I purchased the the distribution tree a few years ago but only used it one or two times a year. I liked the product but the weak point is the plastic knob that screws onto the propane tank. Perhaps the design of the plastic knob is not strong enough to support the lantern. I went to use it this year and the center of the plastic knob broke off.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible design This design has the only fastening on the plastic knob that screws into the gas fitting. There is a fairly useless second adjustment that contacts the tank that minimally takes a little off the gas connection. Ultimately you put your lantern on top of the tree and a hose or two to stoves. A little wind or a bump puts torque on the plastic fitting and the center of the knob cracks and the whole thing falls over. Your lantern globe smashes and the tree is then useless. I’ve seen it happen over and over. They need to redesign so tree makes a solid metal to metal attachment to the protective collar and a flexible hose connection to the gas valve.
