Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Quality [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I haven't had this long enough to use it much, but so far it seems like a great hammer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just a hammer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I personally took this hammer under my wing and abused it literally every day. I am a contractor and for this hammer I was unrelenting. Just as I suspected this thing is absolutely indestructible. I actually retired my daily rock hammer and this one replaced it. It out performed anything I have ever used in strength durability and calming the vibration that kills my elbow. Nice job guys! Call this a win.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good mason's hammer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hammer is heavy, but handles well. The claw will split bricks and stone and it only takes a little while to get the hang of it. Works good with a brick set and cold chisels too. Would a professional mason use one of these? I don't know because I am not one. But for the little bit of masonry work I do, it suits me fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Stanley specialty tool! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Stanley Brick Hammer is a well made and well balanced tool. The 'chisel end of the tool does a fine job of scoring a brick and chipping away at it. The front of the hammer contributes to chip away and flattening rough edges. The hammer does help somewhat with less vibration.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to wield. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had reservations about this hammer but it turns out its ergonomics make it easy to use. It's comfortable and doesn't feel as clumsy as other brick hammers I've used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Picked this hammer up about a month ago. Have t had to much time using it yet but the few times I have picked it up have noticed how nice the handle is. Feels good in your hand and has great weight to it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool - my new hardscape 'goto' [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was using an Estwing - a good tool but nothing like this Stanley hammer. All around great landscape /hardscape tool. The Fatmax feel perfect in your hand - grip is great - able to control nicely and finesse when you need but the striking power of this is amazing with all the shock absorbed by the grip. Great tool gonna be the new top 5 goto tools on the bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable brick hammer, heavy duty construction [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this hammer for constructing my retaining wall in my yard. The hammer has a very heavy duty construction and the rubberized grip became better with use. My only feedback would be to have a wider handle for better handling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best 20oz hammer on the market [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this hammer for about 3 weeks now. Now while I'm not a professional bricklayer I have used the hammer around the house. The ergonomics and Precision of this hammer are unsurpassed. The anti vibe really feels great it does not hurt your hand at all. Stanley tools for the win again!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely comfortable and durable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son and I are avid fossil and geode collectors who needed a light weight, yet durable hammer to carry into the back country to use in cracking open geodes. Now I'm sure most people have no idea how hard it is to break open these things, but let me tell you...it's HARD! Not only does this hammer work like a charm...but the rubberized anti vibration handle COMPLETELY absorbed all the shock! If this thing works this fantastic on something far harder than it's designed for..imagine how well it does when used for its intended purpose! I HIGHLY recommend this Stanley product and am looking forward to years of using mine to discover these hidden gems!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well-Balanced [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Occasionally I build dry-stone walls around our home. I've tried this hammer and found it to be an invaluable addition to my toolbox. I'm looking forward to more stone artwork and stacking projects with this FATMAX Anti-Vibe Brick hammer by my side.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Extremely tough hammer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hammer is a bit weighty. Despite the cumbersome feel (or maybe because of it), it really packs a punch! The cutting edge on the back performs flawlessly and with little effort in block or brick cuts. The grip is spot on as well. Even with sweaty hands and repeat striking, I found it easy to keep ahold of my hammer. The solid steel construction of the hammer guarantees a lifetime of service despite the tough jobs ahead of this tool. The weight is a bit of a downfall, but once you get accustomed to swinging this brute, you're going to love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well built [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The weight distribution for the hammer was great. I could have used 2 to 3 more inch on the handle. The way it was made was outstanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brick Hammer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The hammer is well built and designed. Not sure how much you can improve a hammer. The anti-vibe is amazing. Never worried about that stinging in the hand while using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Masons hammer [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well design and balance masonry hammer. I used it on bricks, chipping concrete, digging dirt next to concrete forms...has good rubber grip, wish grip had more aggressive rubber handle as working with cement, dust, dirt the handle sometimes loose your grip being smooth...very good and well made hammer with nice finish...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nicely balanced and well made tool. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an electrician I don't do much masonry work but I found this hammer ideal for cutting in boxes in old plaster lath walls. I scribe in the outline of the box and break out the plaster with the hammer. Nice neat and easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than a cold chisel [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use this when need to resize concrete. Mainly for door's and windows. I used a cold chisel work just fine and got this to test for a better way and bingo the lack of vibrations are worth the change. Great hammer

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Hammer Stanley FATMAX 20oz 54-022 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The water and chemicals in mortar are hard on wood handles. The wooden handles would loosen up and the brick masons would throw the pieces away. Forty years ago on my first job I found a two brick hammer heads. Not having any money I carved new wood handles for them. Several years ago I purchased the Stanley FATMAX Xtreme 51-165 to replace an my old hammer with the leather handle. It was still good, but I thought I would try one of the new Stanley Anti Vibe hammers (51-165). The handle on the anti vibe hammer is so much more comfortable in the hand. I finally saw the light decided to replace my old wooden handled brick hammers with the Stanley FATMAX brick hammer. The forged head and shaft on the brick hammer will last forever. The Anti-Vibe rubber handle feels good in the hand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Balance / Good Design [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my Hammer about 1 month ago. I wanted to use it for awhile before I wrote my review, so here goes: I've used it on brick and also on some pavers, and honestly, I can't say enough good things about this hammer. I'm not sure how I got by with my old one for all of these years. This FatMax Brick Hammer is the perfect weight and length to get the job done for hours on end. My wrists and forearms are not nearly as tired when using this hammer compared to the True Value one that I bought long ago. It is a little more expensive, but well worth it, if you plan to spend any time working with bricks or pavers. I highly recommend this tool. It is very well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from antivibe works [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me preface this review by stating that I like Stanley products and I do not have another brick hammer to compare this with. I am also not a mason. I did try striking some bricks and it works, the end is sharp. The finish is very nice as well. Polished on top. I like the yellow used in every Stanley tool. When i look around for my tool on a jobsite where I have laid it down and gotten preoccupied by something else, I look for yellow. That bit of yellow they add to every tool makes finding it that much easier. I split a few bricks with the hammer to test it. The vibration damping can be described as how a sand filled deadblow hammer feels when you hit something solid with it. I would think that this would be a desirable feature for someone that had a large job to do laying bricks. I will use it for chipping and tacking. Now that I have the hammer I may even try my hand at some home project masonry like a fire pit.
