Description
The American Red Cross Weather Tracker provides 24/7 broadcasts of weather information and severe weather conditions specific to a local region. This region can span from a city level to as broad as a state level. Warnings may include anything from natural situations to man-made disasters (i.e. flooding or oil spill). The Weather Tracker will pick up the weather band signal closest to you. S.A.M.E (Specific Area Message Encoding) Connected to the Emergency Alert System (EAS), this feature will emit an alert to inform you of any hazardous weather condition or warnings as you listen to the radio. The Weather Tracker allows you to enter county codes for areas in which you would like to receive alerts for. Once an emergency situation arises, the unit will alert you right away with the "alert on" feature.
